Family Night July 2
The Mandan Rodeo Days PRCA rodeo begins with Family Night on July 2. Those who purchase a rodeo ticket for the July 2 performance may enjoy a free hotdog feed beginning at 5 p.m., sponsored by Townsquare Media.
Children are invited to enjoy free kids’ activities sponsored by Touchstone Energy and three area Touchstone Energy cooperatives including learning to rope, stick horse barrel racing, trying the Fun on the Run inflatable obstacle course and riding the barrel train. Other activities for kids prior to the rodeo performance include a straw scramble and the Just Clowning Around contest where children dress in their best rodeo clown costume. Every family is eligible to win a gas grill from Lowe’s by signing up at the kids’ activities tent to the right of the entrance.
Stick Horse Race
The first 50 children under age six who come through the gate and want to participate will receive a FREE stick horse for the stick horse race. Stick horses provided by Boot Barn.
The stick horse race takes places on the arena floor just before the rodeo performance begins
At the gate ONLY – Receive $2 off a child’s rodeo ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket. (Children under age 6 admitted free with a paying adult.)
Just Clowning Around – Rodeo Clown Dress-Up Contest
Sign up when you arrive at the rodeo at the kids’ activity tent to the right of the entrance. Judging will take place promptly at 6:45 p.m.
There are two divisions – one for kids ages 6 and under and the other for those ages 7 to 12. Winners receive prizes and every child who enters gets a photo opportunity with a rodeo clown.
Judges, including Rodeo clown Matt Tarr, will determine the winner.
