2019 Rodeo to raise funds for K9s For Warriors

The Mandan Rodeo Days commitee recently chose K9s For Warriors as the selected charity for the 2019 rodeo fund-raising efforts.

This national, non-profit group provides service dogs to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma as a result of post-9/11 military service. They train shelter dogs as service animals and are the nation’s largest provider of service dogs for disabled American veterans.

Over the past five years Mandan Rodeo Days has donated nearly $90,000 to selected charities through a raffle, live and silent auctions and other activities. Rodeo patrons have generously supported the committee’s fund-raising efforts.

Last year’s efforts raising $6,600 for K9s For Warriors and $4,400 for the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation. In November rodeo committee members presented Bismarck Cancer Center with a check.
