Record number of contestants anticipated at 2020 Mandan Rodeo Days
June 4, 2020 (Mandan, ND) – The Mandan Rodeo Committee is excited to announce that Mandan Rodeo Days will celebrate its 141st year in 2020 and it expects a record number of contestants.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support from the community,” said Committee Chairman Jason Mittlestadt. “We presold more online tickets in one week than we have ever sold online in the past, which means the 2020 Mandan Rodeo is a go!”
As of June 3, 2020, online ticket sales totaled 1142 compared to 428 total online tickets sold for the 2019 event.
Although they missed the 3,000-ticket goal, sponsors stepped in to clear the gap. “I can’t say enough about how incredible our local businesses are. Two businesses stepped forward to provide the backstop we needed to commit to hosting this event,” said Mittlestadt.
Coordinators expect to see two to three times the usual number of contestants flood the community July 1-4 and that many of the nation’s top cowboys and cowgirls will compete here. “We’ve always attracted the best athletes, but this year we anticipate a surge in entries because so many other rodeos have cancelled,” Mittlestadt said.
Rodeo tickets continue to be available online at MandanRodeo.com. Ticket prices are $25 for adults and $10 for children aged 6-12. Children 5 and under are free. All tickets are general admission.
